Hey all, thanks for the response.

Just talked to Jin about a few more details for the tourney.

First of all, it looks like there will be a tourney fee for the weekend. It will be no more than 30,000won, and students (Ulsan Uni, Gage's, etc.) will hopefully be partially subsidized so it will be cheaper for them.

Secondly, Jin has been in touch with the local government and is trying to arrange some more sponsorship money/other stuff from them. This may include other sleeping arrangements and/or rental tents for sleeping on the beach. What is everyone's preference? I'm guessing that people like the tent idea... Also, depending on how much sponsorship is given Jin mentioned the idea of arranging a bus from Seoul (party bus!) to get down to Busan. This obviously depends on money as well as getting a group of Seoulites organized to leave and return at the same time. More on this later.

Keep spreading the word. Jin needs to get an estimate to the local government soon, so if you're planning on coming POST IT UP!

sounds awesome!

I am in Jeju the week before, so will try and make it for the weekend.

Definately in for any more beach fun too.

if we can rent tents on the beach, that would be my prefered way to sleep!

They're providing tents....and I think you mean tents are the preferred way to stay up all night taking drugs and shagging to REBELLIOUS ROCK AND/OR ROLL!

THIS IS GONNA BE SICK.

Thanks for the all this attention and support from all of you.

I am doing all my best to bring a better result for this tournament.

The most important thing is finding the numbers of participants in this tournament.
Today at 4 pm, I will talk to the local government about the numbers and what kind of sponsorship we can get from.
Let me know as possible as you can find the participating numbers please.
If I can find this before 4 pm, it will be better for me to talk to them.
If anyone can do this, please.

I will keep you all posted as soon as I get any news from local government.

Jin

There will be plenty of room and in fact the more people we can get out there the more likely that the sport will be given support by Koreans and especially the Korean government (read: Jeju) in the future.

Okay, the tally for participants so far:

Justin
Ian
Zeiser
Lu
Gage's students
Dray
Tori
Turvey
Turvey's posse (3-10)
Ulsan students (6-8 )
Shannon
Miami Marley
Meg
Nate3da
Sam
Ali
NA

(The following signed up via the Facebook event post)
Thomas
Heather Deschene
Ann Katherine Sterrett
John Steele
Les Timmermans
Graham S. H.
Allan Hardy
Sahra Ucar
Mark Harley

(HY and I will be in the US...)

Total: ~40 (will vary depending on the number of students and Turvey's alleged posse)

I don't know a few of the names that signed up via Facebook. If you read this and you signed up via Facebook, put a post here as well.

Also, I talked to Jin again today. Looks like meals, water, and tents will be all taken care of by the sponsors, along with added bonuses like banners and (gasp!) medical staff. Sweeeet... The tourney fee, which will almost certainly be 30,000won, will go to cover drinks, the party, etc. Details forthcoming.

And yes, unfortunately Heeyoung and I will be in the US during this tourney, so all of this organizing is purely out of the goodness of my heart. Also, this means that I will need someone here to take over the reins a bit in terms of organizing as I'll be gone. Shouldn't be too much, mostly making sure people know what's going on and also organizing people into teams (this is the most important). Any takers? Send me a PM if you're interested.

Word. This will be a good tourney...
